Ultra Premium ETFE laminate

Most flexible panels are produced using a cheap PET laminate, the same sort or plastic-type layer used to make water bottles, ever seen what happens to a water bottle left in the sun?? PET discolours and breaks down, reducing the ability of the sun to reach your cells. ETFE is designed to withstand the harsh UV rays ensuring your cells can perform at their peak for years to come.

The more efficient a cell works, the more power is produced per square meter of space. This means that for the physical size of the panel, you won't find a panel that produces more power than these.

Important Installation Requirements

Flexible panels are designed to be flexible for the initial installation application, and then stay fixed in that position. They are not suitable for continuous movement and flexing. They must stay fixed, have 100% of the surface area supported and properly connected to the mounting surface, and be wired/fused correctly.
AllSpark 150w flexible solar panels run at 24.8V (Vmp). SunPower cells have a maximum system voltage of 45V and as such 150w panels can only be connected in Parallel. Series connection is not permitted on this model as this would exceed the 45V maximum system voltage. A MAXIMUM of 3 x 150w panels can be connected in parallel in a single string. More panels would require additional strings and separate MPPT solar controllers.

Each panel in the string must be protected by a MC4 10A solar fuse. If you have more than one panel in the string, you must also have a DC isolator on the cable running to the MPPT solar controller. For this model, a 20A circuit breaker is suitable for 1 or 2 panels or increased to 25A for 3 panels.

2 bypass diodes - should your panel end up in heavy shade (maybe if you leave camp for the day), the dual bypass diodes will ensure the cells continue to work to their optimum levels, with each side of the panel working independently.

Solid copper backing and thick connectors - ensuring maximum power production as cells are not connected using thin, weak strips like most panels which can break or corrode and the front face of the panel is not covered with wire lines (which reduces the surface area exposed to the sun).

Lightweight (4.1kg inc corflute and tape) - alternative to rigid, glass panels, and are perfect for use on the roof of caravans, campers and rooftop tents where weight is always a concern for most vehicles.
